As of late, I can't seem to decide on a particular theme with my nailpolish. One day I'll be channeling a dark and grungy look while others I might break out the glitter and go full throttle. There's just no telling what kind of mood I might be in when I go to my stash to pick a colour. If you follow me on Instagram then you'll know that I am always uploading photos of my nails and at the moment I'm rocking a neon red from American Apparel that has caught a few glances in shops and on the tube but I don't care.
That's the beauty with nailpolish, there aren't any rules and you can do whatever the hell you want.
I was recently sent some polishes from HJI Manicure, a brand I'd never heard of before, and was pleasantly surprised at how good the quality and shade range is. Created by London based session manicurist, Helen J, HJ Manicure launched in 2009 and is a full range of easy to apply and quick drying nail lacquers that are available in two different sizes.
The shades I was sent are:
These are from the Festive collection, hence the spangly-ness, but there is a complete core collection which includes some gorgeous bright shades that have summer written all over them.
I've not had a chance to try these on my nails but I thought I could at least give you an idea on how they look once swatched and they really are quite pretty. Disco and Baby Pink Glitter are more my kind of colours but Cracker definitely isn't. I'm just not a copper/gold kind of gal but I can imagine it looking nicer on someone with a tan or maybe on toes but personally, it just doesn't make me go 'Wow'. All three shades applied smoothly without any pooling or streaking and the Baby Pink Glitter was densely packed so could be used without any underwear.
Would I buy them myself? Yes, but probably not these shades. The good thing about HJ Manicure polishes is that you can buy them online and they're available in small 5ml bottles for £4.50 or a standard 15ml bottle for £9.50 so you don't feel like you're parting with too much money.
Are any of you tempted to try them out?
Until next time...Keep swivelling those in hips in your
